Already many local people and organisations have come forward to be trained up to be involved both on air and behind the scenes but we still need more helpers. You don’t need any experience so if you fancy having a go its not too late and each of the three areas will get their own temporary radio stations.

Anyone wanting to find out more about being involved should contact Joanne Hughes on 01443 777536

Radio Cwmni will be run by volunteers who will receive training to present programmes and carry out a range of behind the scenes duties. We’ll take some details from you and then introduce you to the team who will be running Radio Cwmni and answer any questions you may have.

Alternatively use the volunteer form.

WHAT TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN ?

Would you like to...

Learn new skills and gain experience ?

Make new friends ?

Be involved in helping make your community a better place ?

Then this is how we can help….

Provide informal training in your community

Maybe you have an idea for a radio programme – we can help you make it a reality

Help you with using computers or improving the skills you already have

Even if you only have an hour or so spare a week you can get involved

REMEMBER – the training is FREE and if you are in receipt of benefits these will NOT be affected

This is an example of ordinary people, doing extraordinary things...

...Volunteers John and Vaughan get up early every week to present the Sunday Breakfast show. John works for Too Good to Waste, a local recycling charity and Vaughan is the resident Chaplain at the University of Glamorgan.
John tells us of his time with GTFM in Pontypridd:

“I have been volunteering for GTFM for nearly 5 years. I have learnt so much about radio and the media which I have been able to use in my “day job”. I feel the station plays an important part in the community and I am proud to be part of it."

Joan Smart aka “Joan on the Phone” started off helping in the office and answering the phones and now she is training to become an on-air presenter. She said:

“ My children have all grown up and left home and I found I had spare time on my hands. I wanted to find something different to do with my time. At first the idea of talking on air scared the life out of me, so I helped on the phones, but now I think I’m ready to present my own show.”

We need people like you to help us with this fantastic project. If you would like to get involved contact 01443 777 536 or
